The New Year is a great time to take stock of our successes in 2025 and look forward to the year ahead. At CAD Architects in Truro, we would like to wish a Happy New Year to all our clients and take a few minutes to reflect on some of our favourite highlights from 2025.
2025 was a great year for CAD Architects, with new contracts won, new partnerships forged and exciting architecture projects completed. It also saw the ongoing business growth of CAD Planning and CAD Heritage, both of which continue to lead in their respective fields.
There are so many amazing 2025 highlights that we cannot share them all in this short blog article. So here are just a few of our favourites to give you a flavour of our year.
- Impressive progress on construction of key worker accommodation at Tresawls Road in Truro, Hyve by Prime, developed for Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. CAD Architects has delivered design solutions that overcame practical challenges and maximise value. Hyve will offer 22 modern, purpose-built apartments – a total of 89 bedrooms across 3, 4 and 5 bed layouts. We are looking forward to seeing the project continue to move forward over the coming months, with completion due in 2027.
- The Legacy Properties housing development in Trispen, Cornwall, has been named The Paddocks following a creative collaboration with the local school. CAD Architects were proud to be involved in the design of the scheme and in securing planning approval. This represented a significant planning success, overcoming Local Planning Policy to deliver much-needed new homes that are strongly desired by the local community. We are looking forward to seeing the development being built in 2026.
- Planning approval was also received for another Legacy Properties project, 40 new homes in Goonhavern. The scheme was granted on Appeal, with the Inspector commenting that the proposals were well related to the form of the existing settlement. CAD Architects prepared the scheme and CAD Planning prepared the appeal, with support from Stephens & Scown. Again, it is wonderful to see this development progressing.
- Planning permission has been granted for a new residential development in Cubert in Cornwall. Brought forward as a Rural Exemptions site, the scheme will deliver 24 new homes, including 14 affordable dwellings to address identified local housing needs. The milestone followed an extensive period of engagement with the Parish Council, ensuring the development will meet the needs and aspirations of the local community.
- CAD Architects were honoured to extend and modernise the premises of The Samaritans, enhancing their ability to provide compassionate care around the clock. The transformation includes a new standalone single-story training building, renovation of existing spaces and essential upgrades including full disabled access.
- CAD Architects have delivered a vast number of residential architecture projects for private clients this year, designed from concept through to completion. The range of projects is diverse, including numerous wonderful coastal homes in Cornwall, capturing sweeping sea views and bringing the outside in, through light, texture and stunning design features. Our range of projects also include rural and town properties and unique barn conversions.
- In 2025, we started offering Passivhaus design, a powerful new addition to our architectural services, supporting our clients aiming for the highest standards of energy efficiency and comfort. We have been delighted to see this approach becoming part of more and more of our projects over the months since it was launched.
And last, but not least:
- One of CAD Architects projects in Cornwall, Bargesi, appeared on ‘Britain’s Most Expensive Houses’ on Channel 4! Described as ‘a taste of Beverley Hills’, it was exciting to see this exceptional architecture project gaining fame on TV!
What a year it has been! Now we are looking forward to raising the bar still higher in 2026 and delivering more exciting projects for our clients, new and old.
