This site was formerly occupied by a single cob and stone cottage, with a garden and small orchard. The whole site was extremely run-down.

Working as residential development architects, we determined that the whole site sat within the natural enclosure of the village and represented an opportunity to provide a small number of much needed large family homes.

The scheme includes 4 four-bedroom detached dwellings, with in curtilage parking and garages. Given the location of the site, it was felt that the dwellings should have a strong vernacular narrative and be recognisable as “Cornish” dwellings. The form, scale and fenestration are designed to reflect this Cornishness.
