Ambition with Design: CAD Architects partners with the Cornish Pirates
CAD Architects are delighted to announce a new partnership with the Cornish Pirates, becoming the club’s Official Architecture and Planning Partner.
Our new signage now takes its place alongside CAD Heritage and CAD Planning on the prominent crowd-facing hoardings of the Tribute Stand, putting all three areas of our business proudly into view as the rebuilt grandstand reopened on Sunday for the Pirates’ first league game of the new season.

So why the Pirates?
For us, it starts with ambition.
Ambition is positive energy. It encourages people and organisations to look beyond where they are today, to how they can evolve, become stronger and where they might need or want to be in the future. Sunday’s season opener versus Doncaster arrived at an exciting time for the Cornish Pirates, with continuing ambition for success on the pitch combined with a vision for how to achieve and sustain it at the highest level, whilst retaining the spirit of the county it represents.
Developing local rugby talent, building commercial partnerships and creating new initiatives all form part of that vision. But what the Pirates stand for matters too. A strong sense of identity and purpose gives people something to connect with, encouraging supporters, players, partners and the wider community to invest their own energy in the club and become part of its journey.
The launch of the Cornish Pirates Foundation demonstrates an awareness that the benefits of that energy and success can reach much further, sharing the benefits of progress with the wider community and strengthening the connections that help drive the club forward.
The Pirates’ approach, and the strong sense of identity and community that underpins it, resonate strongly with us.
Good design is about much more than achieving an immediate outcome. It combines skill, vision and judgement to understand what people value, what they need now and what they might need in the future, then uses that understanding to maximise the benefits delivered at every stage.
